TCASWA Educational Event - Sunday March 1, 2015
at The Pasture, a herding training facility, in Riverside.
Audra Lopez, an Animal Science Professor at Mt San Antonio College, gave a lecture on the most common sheep diseases such as sore mouth, caseous lymphadenitis, acidosis, tetanus, and clostridium. After the lecture, Audra, with assistance from Christian Stoffers, Facility Supervisor at Edwards Lifesciences showed us how to flip sheep, administer a vaccination for CDT (clostridium and tetanus) and trim hooves. Participants all were able to jump in do all these things as well, we got through about 30 head of sheep! We have great weather and we all learned a lot. Thank you Audra and Christian!!!
